I have a nearly new CD by Joe Lovano called Celebrating Sinatra. It is a tribute album by the tenor sax great. I'm just not a big fan of Sinatra. So if anyone here would like this CD, just let me know where to mail it. First response gets it. You can read rave reviews of the CD here .



What I would really like to do is start a "pay it forward" thread where those of us who have music---sheet music, CDs, videos, DVDs, etc., or anything music-related (Bach busts?)---that we no longer want or need, give it to others who do, free of charge. Do you think that will go over well here? I'm hoping this is a start. I've already sent several members here sheet music, and I'll look around for other things y'all may want.

No one has written that they want this CD. Who turns down free stuff?

But I am most saddened that no one seems to be interested in the "pay it forward" proposition. So on the off chance that no one has read this thread because it didn't have a catchy title like "[Pics] Jodi in a bikini!" I am bumping it to the top once again.

Well Gryphon, I really liked the "Pay it Forward" idea... But after the failed "Grant a Piano Wish", I'm hesitant to be recommend something of which I cannot follow through.

However, since this is much less involved & doesn't require coordinated efforts, it has a good chance of succeeding. I would certainly like to see it do so.

Gryphon, I think it's a wonderful idea, and I will contribute if I can. I love all the music I have at the moment though.

One advantage of the IRC room that I had proposed, is that users could exchange music very easily through a protocol offered through the IRC.

Just wanted to bump this pay it forward idea back up to the top...

Frankly I am surprized. I have offered three CDs, including two Mozart CDs, free of charge and no one has taken me up on it. Just post a message or send me an email and the CD will be in your mailbox that week. Won't cost you a cent.

Perhaps people don't like Mozart as much as they pretend to.
